St Croix National

There is no doubt that St. Croix National is one of the most challenging courses in the metro area; however, it is also one of the most beautiful too. Although there are no �cliffs� as (2 handicap) states, the up-and-down layout through the valley is a rare find among the metro area, especially when considering the price. One of the best parts about playing here is that you can escape the hustle of the city and relax among the pines while playing the greatest game there is. Every time I play here I feel like it�s my own private course because I rarely see any other golfers. Although there are a few �blind� tee shots--holes 1, 2, 11, and 16--the rest are pretty easy to figure out (follow the fairway). Some of the holes do need brush trimming, and the tee boxes need a bit of work, but the greens and fairways are in great shape--especially considering the lack of rain and the conditions of other courses in the area right now. Their staff is right, you do need to play this course more than once or twice before making judgments about it. But with friendly employees, competitive rates, and a one-of-a-kind course, who wouldn�t want to come back?
