Chaska Town Course - Region 2 - Metro
Reviewed by:  Greg Trok - Lakeville, MN. Greg shoots in the 80s.
Review Summary:  Conditions are great and the course is challenging.
Conditions:  Excellent. Greens are true and fast and the tee boxes and fairways are in excellent condition.
Scenery:  Very nice, carved out of swampland that makes for a very nice backdrop.
Layout: Front 9 is links style and back nine is a water/shotmaking course.
Services: Good. Beverages every 3 or 4 holes.

Review Summary:  One of the best public courses in the Metro area. Very challenging. Great condition from tee to green. The addition of carts with GPS in '06 is a real bonus giving accurate yardage from any location. If you are a walker it can get a bit lengthy from each green to tee box. Somewhat spendy non-resident fee.
Conditions:  Immaculate conditions throughout the course. Well groomed tee boxes, fairways and rough. The greens roll fast and true with the exception of hole 4. Green is heavily shaded and a bit shaggy.
Scenery:  Beautiful. Course is carved through wetlands and wildflowers.
Layout: A great design shot-wise, requiring great shots on virtually every hole. The distances and elevations from green to tee box can get quite tiresome if walking. If the budget allows, take the cart. Watch out on the first hole if you go right as the range is located adjacent to it.
Services: Excellent service on and off the course. If you are a beer drinker the selection is limited.

Review Summary:  Course layout was good, but greens were in horrible shape (May 06).
Conditions:  Played on an extremely windy and dry day and the course, especially the front nine, was very tough. The fairways, bunkers and tee boxes were in great shape, but the greens were horrible.
Scenery:  Nice scenery - the front nine is pretty open (links style), while the back nine is a little tighter.
Layout: Great layout. A couple of measurements from the tee boxes on the back (specifically nos. 13 and 15) would be nice. The tee shot on 13 is a longer carry than it looks and the fairway on 15 runs into a creek about 260 from the tee.
Services: No complaints. In fact, our cart indicated that it had a problem and a new cart arrived within 2 or 3 minutes.
