Region 1: Brainerd Lakes Area - Midwest's #1 Golf Destination
Brainerd | Breezy Point | Nisswa | Pequot Lakes | Crosslake
You'll discover a remarkable array of world class golf courses, all within a 45-minute drive of one another, on the Brainerd Golf Trail. The natural environment of 450 lakes, woods, wetlands and wildlife inspire your game. The Brainerd Lakes Area has been named, "One Of The Top 50 Golf Destinations In The World," by Golf Digest. And the world class golf is complemented by many world class resorts such as Cragun's Resort - named "Best Golf Resort" by MME and awarded Golf Digest's 2008-2009 "Best Places to Play" with a 5-Star rating awarded to the Dutch Legacy and a 4 1/2-Star rating awarded to Bobby's Legacy. Only 23 other courses out of nearly 6,000 USA golf courses have received this prestigious 5-Star honor.
Region 2: Metro
Twin Cities Metropolitan Area
You might assume that there is a bevy of high-quality, finely-conditioned golf courses all within a short drive of the Twin Cities metropolitan area. But you may be surprised to learn that many of these courses impart a secluded, pristine, "Up North" feel that adds much more to the urban golf experience. At many courses, the natural beauty is set against a cityscape background.
Region 3: Southern
Albert Lea | Austin | Rochester | Worthington
You'll be impressed with the wide-ranging types of golf courses in the southern region of Minnesota. Course terrain varies from the soft, windswept prairies of the southeast to the magnificent Mississippi River Valley bluff country in the southwest. The golf courses capture the spirit of this varied landscape, providing a diverse experience that's unmatched.
Region 4: West Central
Alexandria | St. Cloud | Willmar
This is where the forests meet the prairies and rolling hills of the south. You'll find golf courses combining the character of both types of land, and one sure to fit your tastes, in such communities as the town of Alexandria, the bustling city of St. Cloud and the prairie community of Willmar.
Region 5: Northwest
Bemidji | Detroit Lakes | Moorhead | Thief River Falls
The beauty of Minnesota's north country is found in golf courses that range from Bemidji to Detroit Lakes to Thief River Falls. Course characteristics vary from prairie style to classic northern lakes and woods. But the fun is always lumberjack size.
Region 6: Northeast
Duluth | Grand Rapids
Golf in the great Minnesota northeast is as big and beautiful as the spectacular outdoors of the Arrowhead region. This is golf in the land of cathedral pines and sparkling lakes, including the incomparable Lake Superior as a backdrop. Here, the deep woods surround hidden gems of courses located from Lutsen to Duluth, Grand Marais to the Giants Ridge area.
