The Pines Golf Course Reviews
Best Golf Hole: Number 7 on the Woods. Hit to the top of a plateau on your drive and prepare yourself for a critical second shot to a unbelievably severe undulating green.
Speed of Play: 4 to 4 ½ hours.
Best Change for Birdie: #9 on the Woods. Dogleg left, 500 yard, par five that is reachable in two if aggressive. Best choice is to lay up for a 100 yard approach.
Guaranteed Bogey: #2 on the Woods. Long dogleg right par 4 with a blind second shot. Put down a five and be happy.
Longest Par 4: #7 on the Marsh. Although it’s long … hit a 3 wood to position yourself for a long, uphill second shot. A drive of 260 will put you on a downhill lie in the rough because the fairway stops. "Good Luck"
Best Par 3: #7 on the Lakes. With a pond on the left and a steep hill on the right … there’s no room for error.
Practice Facilities: Exquisite!! Large tee box, accurate distance on the target greens and don’t forget to play a round on the unique putting green.
Speed Of Greens: 8 on the stimpmeter.
One Shot You Need To Know: How to hit out of the rough because you’re going to be in it.
Clubhouse: Award winning facility. Great Pro Shop and restaurant. Sit on the outside deck.
Ammunition Required: Two sleeves if your driver isn’t working.
Most Unique Course Feature: The rough. It’s long and unforgiving.
Green Thumb: Check out the beautiful flower gardens across the highway at Grand View Lodge.
Walk Or Ride: Walk!! It’s a long walk but it allows you to play the course better.
